Detailed Guide

Grading System Overview

The Grading System module provides comprehensive tools for managing student academic performance. It allows teachers to record grades, calculate GPAs, generate report cards, track academic progress, and maintain detailed performance records. The system supports various grading scales, weighted assessments, and automated grade calculations.

Key Features

Record and manage individual assignment grades, calculate weighted averages and GPAs, generate comprehensive report cards, track academic progress over time, support multiple grading scales and systems, provide grade analytics and performance insights, enable grade history and audit trails, and support grade exports and reporting.

Grading Dashboard

The grading dashboard provides an overview of all grading activities. It displays current grade distributions, pending assignments, recent grade entries, and performance trends. You can view grades by class, subject, or individual student, and access quick actions for common grading tasks.

Entering Grades

To enter grades: Select the class and assignment, choose the student, enter the grade score, add optional comments or feedback, and save the grade entry. The system validates grade ranges and automatically calculates updated averages. You can enter grades individually or in bulk for multiple students.

Grade Calculations

The system automatically calculates weighted averages based on assignment types and weights. GPA calculations follow standard academic formulas, and final grades are determined by configured grading scales. The system supports custom weighting schemes and can handle different assessment types with varying importance.

Report Cards and Transcripts

Generate comprehensive report cards showing grades, comments, attendance, and overall performance. Create official transcripts with cumulative GPAs and academic history. Customize report formats and include additional information such as teacher comments, parent signatures, and school policies.

Grade Analytics

Access detailed analytics on grade distributions, performance trends, and comparative analysis. View class averages, identify struggling students, track improvement patterns, and generate performance reports. Analytics help identify areas for improvement and celebrate academic achievements.

Grading Scales

Configure custom grading scales to match your institution's requirements. Support for letter grades (A-F), numerical scales (0-100), percentage-based grading, and custom grade point systems. Define grade boundaries, GPA equivalents, and pass/fail thresholds.

Best Practices

Enter grades promptly after assignments are completed, use consistent grading criteria across all assignments, provide constructive feedback with grades, regularly review and update grade calculations, backup grade data regularly, train teachers on proper grading procedures, and maintain clear communication about grading policies.
